“I miss my grandpa every single day. Our bond was simple, strong, and full of love. I miss how he would listen to anything I had to say, how he’d answer all my questions about his past, sharing the stories and memories he loved.
I miss rubbing his head, just like my mum always did with him.
Every time I saw him, I’d jokingly ask if, when I turned 18, I could get one of his cars, and I’d tease him about why he needed all of them. He’d always indulge me, smiling and entertaining the question like it was brand new every time.
He was such a steady, loving presence in my life, and losing him has left a space in my heart. But the love we shared stays with me, and I carry his memory in everything I do.
